Who they were
Anthony Bateman is a British consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist who developed MBT with Peter Fonagy in the 1990s and ran the trials establishing its effectiveness for borderline personality disorder, later extending it to antisocial personality disorder and other conditions. He is a Visiting Professor at University College London and served on the UK NICE guideline group for borderline personality disorder.
